Cromptons infrared lamps designed for long life, with a rated life of 10,000 hours. Soft glass versions, which are not designed for domestic use, are used for drying of paints, varnishes, glues etc. Manufactured from ruby coloured glass and therefore cannot deteriorate through use. It should not be confused with cheap sprayed versions where the ruby colour can wear off. All soft glass versions must be protected from splashes and not used in areas of high humidity. Hard glass versions are suitable for domestic use and for keeping food etc.
